Get the Shell out of our Pensions!
On 28th July, the leaders of the ten Greater Manchester councils and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be meeting in Rochdale for their monthly GMCA meeting. We will be there to demand action on the Greater Manchester Pension Fund’s dirty investments in Shell and other fossil fuel companies.
The location of the meeting isn’t confirmed yet, but we plan to meet:
8:30am – 10:00am
Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL161XU
(next to the bus station & tram stop)
It’s an early start but the early bird gets the Council Leader!
Bring your placards and banners and ask Greater Manchester leaders why they are allowing more than £1 billion of public money to be invested in climate wrecking companies.
West Yorkshire Combined Authority have called on their pension fund to divest from fossil fuels, other local government pension funds have already divested and yet Greater Manchester Pension Fund is still fuelling climate breakdown. It’s 2023. Call on the Council Leaders to get their act together and clean up the Fund.
If you can’t make it to Rochdale, why not write to your Council Leader?
