Thanks to everyone who joined us for our latest actions in Rochdale and Droylsden.
On 28th July, the leaders of the ten Greater Manchester councils and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor met in Rochdale for their monthly GMCA meeting. We were there to demand action on the Greater Manchester Pension Fund’s dirty investments in Shell and other fossil fuel companies. We staged a tug of war between the oil giants and our climate, with good coverage in Rochdale Online.
Next we were in Droylsden for a meeting of the Management Panel of the Greater Manchester Pension Fund on 15 September. This time we were there to remind the Panel members about too many climate deaths that the Pension Fund is adding to by investing £1.6bn in fossil fuel companies.
